My latest "project". Actually not a project but "Sarge" does have a few gremlins (not as many as Ken's Snowdrop though ) The main problems have been electrical and fuel. Slowly each of the issues is being taken care of and he should be ready to charge up San Juan Hill very soon. John

I was able to purchase mine for a tad bit more than Shaun is asking (plus transport across the country) so his price is very fair.
That would make a great Essex DAF command car. ;D ;D

Just a quick update on "SARGE". I had to work all weekend long but still managed a few original modifications to bring him back to where the DAF YA66 was in 1974. Front Bumper has been re-painted the original White and added some original stenciled numbers I had found under the first layer of green paint. With a few grains of luck I should be able to have the original License plate back on "Sarge"...I have contacted a company in Holland which will remanufacture the original plate number for me. Each Military vehicle in Holland has the original License plate ID tag on the dashboard so I know what number to get. ;D ;D Rear Bumper has also been done (after straightening it out...LOL) Also a few of the original decals were re-made and are now in place. He's looking good John. What a difference those white bumpers make; they just give it a lift from all that olive green.

A few more little Tid-bits of improvement on "SARGE" this week. As some of you already know my DAF 66-YA belonged to the Dutch Military Police (Koninklijke Marechaussee) stationed at SOESTERBERG AIR FORCE Base just outside Utrecht, Holland. Soesterberg was a U.S. Air force base which closed in 1998. So, in keeping with my zest for authenticity I have decided to return the YA back to it's former self. ;D A blue name board was added to the cowling. ...and today this I applied the Vinyl lettering this morning, painted the two edges and re-installed it back on the car. What an amazing sight. ;D I am very happy with the results and it is beginning to look like this photo; John

Sarge is looking good John. It's great that you've managed to trace his history.
