well I will add this into the pot now, im a bit confused....
engine starts so quick its amazing, far outstarts BeeBee hands down... flick key, its running..
propellor shaft will not rotate AT ALL..
Jacked car up so one wheel off ground to confirm neutral and gears , they are selecting it would seem.... as in wheel locks in both gears but not in neutral. no amount of twisting will turn the propshaft (hand only because its aluminium) yet I can spin the engine freely by hand pressure. So... what locks a propshaft? car rolls in neutral just fine engine starts fine soon as revs increase and clutch comes in thats it.. engine is loaded and wont rev any more.. (havent pushed it as dont want to kill the clutch shoes)
any suggestions gratefully recieved
Also she wont be staying orange, have seen the new colour on a daf truck we had in the workshop and its gorgeous.. and will suit the lines of a daf to the ground....... if anyone needs some daf orange paint let me know

N I C K, You could possibly have a spun propshaft. If the rubber cones have come loose the motor will spin but the prop & Vario will not. This could get ugly. You will need to confirm that the rubber bells are intact. If the rear end is up in the air the Vario/wheels should turn easily just by rotating the tyres. This will confirm if the Vario has locked up. John

But a spun prop wouldn't stop him turning it by hand, John. My money is still on the rear clutch bearing...... ;D

Now I am wondering if it could be the same problem as with Vee, with a slight modification. In either event, and Joe will agree, it is time to pull the Motor to find the problem. John

propshaft appears to try and turn as far as the primary gearbox, infact if someone blips throttle cyou can feel it twisting on the primary end rubber coupling if that makes sense, the input shaft of the primary however has NO movement AT ALL, vario can indeed be turned when its in neutral, but put it in gear and shes locked up tighter than a trans in PARK.. will be dropping the primary after work tomorrow, need to change the belt anyways as it seems to be cracked to hell, might have been new once but sitting 7 years in the same position doesnt appear to have done it any favours

just an update guys, the input shaft to the primary gearbox is siezed rock solid and was the cause of the problems.
