Thanks for the insight Joe.
Hopefully tomorrow I can peek in at the bodyshop and check on the status of the epoxy repairs.
I'll keep you posted.

I liberated the Secondaries from the Body Shop this afternoon and I have to admit "Bondo Billie" outdid himself with that rusted mess. The liquid metal epoxy came out smooth as a Baby's butt. We'll see how this "professional grade" material holds up after a few hundred miles. God...I wish DAF had not switched from Stainless to a Chrome coating. John

That looks like a good job, John - better than I managed on Tilly with them still on the car. If hers are anything to go by, you should be good for a long time with that

That looks a very good job John and will be following the progress as Dorothy also has rust on her transmission which needs looking at...good luck

Hi I know I am new and not played with dafs before but why can't you mig weld the pits and then grind smooth. Or machine them down and the mating faces to keep the gap between them right. Are they pressed on to the shafts? Just a thought.

hi Ozzie, they are built as a matched machined, balanced assembly and mig would likely cause distortion as they arent that thick, I now own Tilly and shes done a lot of miles since her pulleys were filled and they still look great. I would personally be worried about welding into a chromed surface as it will flake the chrome and also the gases from the base metals from the plating being flashed off by the heat will not do the weld any favours either.. on the early cars the pulleys were stainless steel (you might be lucky on Issobella white) but im not sure when they started/stopped with the stainless
