Matt, After doing the greatest balancing act since Philippe Petit wire-walked between the Twin Towers with a 66 primary unit on a dodgy trolley jack...I've noticed a small problem. This rubbery thing doesn't look quite right. It'll probably stay where it is, but I'm trying to determine what car it is from. a) It fits the transmission tunnel snugly as it should. b) The bottom flap which has a slot in it points backwards as it should. c) On the driver's side I have a small slit and a small hole for the handbrake cable, this looks normal. d) This is the odd bit. I'm looking at the selector shaft and I'm looking at the rubbery bit and I'm looking at the arm the selector shaft hooks up with. What I can't fathom out is why I have a hole for the shaft much further up than I need it and why I haven't got a hole much lower down where I want it I guess there are rubbery bits and there are rubbery bits. I know a V300 one isn't the same as I've got one in the shed. I've also just found the one from my old 66 which has a hole where I want it. I suppose I might wiggle it all apart again... (Pics later when I find a cable.)

Ok here's the one you sent: IMG_20150411_222833_331a by macplaxton, on Flickr That's the rear of the boot, with the extra bit at the bottom left, handbrake slit/hole top left and the selector shaft hole high right. Now here's a V300 one (rear view): IMG_20150705_200118_241 by macplaxton, on Flickr No 45 degree reward flap (nor extra bit at the bottom left), handbrake slit/hole top left and the selector shaft hole high right. and here's a front view of it: IMG_20150705_200113_671 by macplaxton, on Flickr Finally, one found it a crate of 66 bits - '73 1100 SL - that was stolen/crashed (rear view): IMG_20150705_200103_083 by macplaxton, on Flickr Same as the first one, but has a selector shaft hole low right. and front view: IMG_20150705_200056_989 by macplaxton, on Flickr

Having looked at a V300 primary, the selector rod goes straight to an arm on top of the transfer gears. On the D66, it has a extra arm that pivots and reverses the direction of travel. So I'm wondering if a 44/55 primary has the arm connected to the top of the transfer gears rather than an intermediate arm.
