Hello there! I just yesterday bought my first ever daf 44. It's a bit of a rotter. I will try and get some pics up shortly

Well hello Patrick, welcome to the world of DAF ownership.
It looks an interesting one, can't wait to hear the back story and plans, plus see some pics.

It's pretty rough! I bought this along with a reliant regal yesterday and fell for the daf. It's a cool looking car! I'm after a lot of repair panels, are these available? I will put some more pics up soon

Wow, you certainly are going to have fun, and you are brave. I doubt you will struggle getting everything you need. Just keep the thread going and post what you need as you need it. The 44 is a little cutie, with one of the nicest "faces" in the range. I have one that I am currently getting back on the road too.
Well worth joining the club if you haven't already.

I may have a couple of bits I can help you with. I have a half decent boot lid that would only need minor repairs as well as several grill blinds if you need. You're well placed where you live as there are a fair numbers of DAF owners within a couple of hours drive. I'd also suggest joining the DAF owners club you'd be suprised how many spares they hold. I personally love my 44s and think they are the best of the range. (Yes, yes, I know many disagree) but other than a 46 where else do you get B body practicality, combined with the sound of a demented sewing machine?
If you ever find yourself over in the wilds of West Wales, and this goes for anyone on here, feel free to call in for a cuppa and DAF chat.

If you need help with mechanical parts/advice/servicing & repairs feel free to ask! I'm in Barnet & have recently been on "a steep learning curve" as regards the inner secrets of Daf ownership! mine's a 33, but I'll forgive the earlier comments about 44s!

Hello again everyone. Some sad news. I have just had a good look over the daf and it's not looking good. The chassis rails have a lot of terminal rot in them. As do most of the panels, sills etc. I think I'm going to have to look for another daf to take on. This one owes me about £200 with recovery costs if anyone would like it for parts
