Hello all in daf land I thought I would show you my shed or lack of one so here goes this is what I started with on sat am then I moved some rubble to make a better watering hole for my other daf daffy that is then a cup of tea and on with moving soil then some more and more now I have this and this what a difference a day makes . Still more to do flatten the bottom and clean off the footings make a ramp in and order 10 tonnes of hard core and then some sand oh and spread it around a bit. Has my engineer bloke friend round and he confirmed 100 tons of soil has been dug out based on what it is. Any one want any soil for there green house. Oh I have 3 tones of rubble left if any one wants some other wise it going in the chicken enclosure.

It's amazing how much energy and money we spend to protect our DAFs. Nice project. John

Plenty of room for DAFs. However large you build it will never be enough. One DAF never is!

The planning department wouldn't let me go higher than 2.5 meters so that is why the hole is so deep. They didn't say how far I could go down laugh out loud. The plan is to have full central heating and hot water. A small kitchen er I mean machine shop and a shower and loo again I mean stores. Got to be able to spend excessive time in the shed just in case mrs Ozzie doesn't like the fact that there will be more dafs. I am looking for a cheep enough train set for round the wall as beer delivery vehicle. From fridge and freezer did I not mention them. Oh The plan for the phone box is glass shelves in it and I have an air conditioner to cool it down for BBQ summers outside the man cave. Er shed. I really must stop thinking these things out loud as mrs Ozzie usually guesses what I am up to.

Excellent investment!! Proper storage space is always lacking, as I see it. It won't be enough, I tend to hoard haha. Looks awesome.

I had a little more time this week on the digger another 20 tones came out but this time it was carefully measured from proper setting out pegs with string lines and spirit levels i ended up with this the kids and wife wanted a swimming pool with diving platforms but I am insisting it's for my shed. Go dig your own hole!

I have to now mark out and lay the bottom underground courses of blocks for the walls the footings that are 600mm wide and a minimum of 400mm deep have a slope from front left to rear right where the drainage is of A maximum 100mm this is so any water drains away through the pipe wich is solid for 6 meters then goes into perforated land drain. What a waste of time that is as the ground is just clay so won't drain. I still have to do the last 10 meters towards the rein at the bottom. Because it will overflow in to this when it rains as the clay will never soak up any water. Anyway the course of blocks will be made up with a natural fall to wards the front of the shed of 100mm so the rear will be made up by 300mm and the front only 100mm. This will give a nice tamping line for tamping the concreate down when it's poured. I am hoping to split the floor up into 4 bays for pouring with a timber shutter witch can also act as an explanation joint. The floor is going to be made up of 150mm of recycled rubble and 50 mm of sand to blind the top and make it all smooth and soft for the damp proof membrain 300 micron thick plastic then suspended 2 inch oops I mean 50mm above that 252a welded stell mesh and 150mm of the finest concreate I can get. Materials arriving today that's 16 tons of recycled rubble yippee.

Just noticed the suspended pipe is not the rain water drainage it's for me loo and shower and sink. The drainage pipe is next to the phone box in the trench.
