Anyone out there who may have a spare steering wheel lying about for a 44 ?? Also looking for ignition lock with keys for a 44 ?? Prefer a Type 1, but probably asking too much since those are scarse as Hen's Teeth. ;D ;D Needed for my Kalmar Project. John

Well, I know Matt did have a mk1 44 wheel and I remember Theo Gillam had it for his Kalmar John. That's not to say that he doesnt have another. Will try to remember to check, as we'll be spending some time in the parts barn this weekend. And Paul, yes you need to plan a trip to Central to spend some time with Sofie. I'm not sure when it will be time to move her to Central but at least we could get her running and more moveable.

That would be a fantastic find Pete.
Since the Steering wheel was so badly cracked I had to remove it and it ended up in the skip. The previous owner of Postal Pete had no keys so the steering column is locked in place now and the doors will not lock.
Keep me abreast on those bits. ;D ;D

You are the best Mr. Roberts. @ Paul... If there had been a way to save it, I would have. I don't beleive in tossing ANY part unless I feel it cannot be saved. The wheel suffered not only from severe cracking, but abuse as well. John

Hi John. Well, thongs could be looking up for you! Were you needing a column too? I take it that you will drill out the old lock and want a replacement for the column? I did try your mobile a couple of times to ask when we were at the barn, guess we chose the wrong time to call.

SUPER...SUPER...SUPER
I don't think I will need the column Pete. I'll just change the cylinder out so the new key will work in there.
MANY THANKS ESSEX DAF. ;D ;D ;D ;D
