Ladies(?) and Gentledaffers...
Drum roll please.....
We are pleased to announce the date for the next Essex DAFs weekender - Saturday 25th / Sunday 26th August.
The format and all the details are the same as last year. There's no Sunday convoy planned yet but perhaps we could all visit Stef to see his race DAF in action as he'll be racing it in Essex!
For those who haven't attended before, there is a guesthouse 2 miles down the road, the very nice 4 star 17th Century Coach House - The Old Courthouse Inn. Otherwise you're free to come and pitch a tent for a one off fee of £5 per pitch to our landlord Farmer George.
Free refreshments will be available to all, including as much of the legendary Essex DAFs tea as we can pour down your necks. Otherwise it'll be car tinkering, DAF banter and just chilling out on the Saturday. Sunday will most likely be convoy day and more refreshments afterwards.
Those who are camping and have long distances to travel are welcome to camp the Friday and Sunday nights if you wish. The fee pitchSis a one off charge remember and you'll actually have to twist George's arm to make him take your money!
We'll most likely have a caravan for ablutions, of not then at least a portaloo.
Dogs are welcome so long as they can be tied to a stake (so as not to scare the chickens) but our landlord has asked for no children to be present this year - sorry!
Anyway, I'll post some more details as we get closer and dig out some photos from the last two events to whet your whistle. Nearer the time we'll start drumming up support but in the meantime it would, as ever, be handy to get an idea of numbers.
Cheese,
Pete.
P.S. For those new to the DAF scene, Essex DAFs welcome all, regardless of any club affiliation. Our first weekender was held on the back of the DOC's Autumn Frolic and last year was our first independent event, to which the DOC gave its blessing.
