Oh well, looks like the previous parts have gone. I have now ordered replacements. Can some kind soul please tell me what are the preferred spark plugs to fit the 1.3 engine.
Thanks
Ken

Right, the replacement service bits have now all turned up. They have been fully marked and put safely into the car bits cupboard. I will of course now find the original bits.
A Mushy session will be forthcoming asap.

I popped over to the overflow this morning to try and do what I could. I fitted the HT leads, rotor arm and distributer cap which is about my limit to be honest. I have points and condensor there to fit as well but the connector on the condensor was slightly different to the original. John, things that will need to be done and bits that you might want to get hold of in readiness: Oil and oil filter need changing: Rad flush and refill maybe: Brakes appear to be locked solid, so you should figure on getting rebuild kits, pads, front hoses and fluid at best. Rear shocks need fitting (I have them already to hand). New wiper blades In line fuel filter A headlight or headlights will need replacing. Check lights generally. Looks like this one then: One of the stalks needs replacing on the steering column, can't recall which one but should be on the MOT failure list early on in the thread, there are a couple of other bits too but I can't recall them off the top of my head. Check back box of the exhaust - repair or make do possibly. Clean carb or replace (I have one if it is needed). Check/adjust timing. I am sure Matt will try and help you with the lights and maybe the stalk and maybe the brake pads but please check with him. Obviously this isn't a definitive list as things may well crop up over the weekender. On the plus side I managed to pop out a shallow dent on the o/s wing and took off the knackered side repeater. Cheers Ken

Re the lights I think John will have to change them anyway I think the rules in the USA insist on 1 candle power sealed beam units.
