No prblem mate, the traffic was light and it was worthwhile doing. Sadly there was no way that I could tell the condition of the front pads but as Matt posted, there is a set there which is helpful. The exterior condition of the hoses looked ok, but obviously that doesn't mean they are ok internally. The corrosion was a bit of a suprise to me as well and will need a closer look methinks.
As you said in your PM, it would be a priority to get her running and driving so that a better looking at can occur at EDC although I'm not sure how that might be facilitated prior to the day.
Anyone?

Here's a suggestion for you then. Free up the brakes and get her rolling where she is. I will be coming down Friday and staying the night at my Grandparents. If someone could meet me at the overflow Id be willing to her to central using a solid bar behind the van, that way we needn't worry about her being running prior to the weekender.

Stay tuned ! I hate to ask Matt (but I must).... ;D Any chance of purchasing a spare 1100cc motor from the inventory ?? ?? ?? With Mushy I now have 4 "boilers" without a spare motor and that does not make me comfortable being so far away. John

Just pop down your local scrapyard and get the rest of that motor you left behind when you got the starter

No can do Rich...there is no motor. The starter and an alternator were the only bits he had (besides the empty shell of what remained of the Renault)

They don't break bad enough to need a fresh motor anyway.
Just pop the liners out and fit new ones. Not that you'll even come close to get enough miles on them to wear them out.

OK Gang....
I am shooting for a SEPTEMBER 28 date when Mushy Vee is to be dropped in Southampton (I checked and this port is the only one which will accept RO-RO service, all the other ports mentioned are Container Only ports). The ship sails on Sunday September 30th so the car needs to be at the port no later that the evening of the 28th (Friday) and her reg plates securely placed inside the car.
How does this sound ??
