Hi Simon, for the wheelbearing the best bet is to pull the old one (if you can do without the car for a few days). Once it's out, measure the inner diameter, outer diameter and thickness and you should be able to order using those dimensions from somewhere like www.bearing-king.co.uk/If you buy one with a 2RS code (eg: 6205 2RS) then it'll have rubber seals built in to the bearing which will allow you to get away with re-using the old lip seal, or they'll be able to supply the seal as well from measurement. If you do it that way (or even if you get one elsewhere!), PLEASE let us know what the measurements are because we're trying to build up a list of that sort of thing so that people can order without stripping to measure first. Unfortunately, as far as I know yours is the first 44 to come up recently! One thing to check before doing any of that, btw, is make sure the hub nut has been done up correctly. IF it's just a case of excessive play then you may well find that someone's done the nut up finger-tight like you would with a taper bearing. That is WRONG for these ones, the should be at something like 90 - 110 lbFt of torque. If they're done like a taper bearing would be then the hub ends up rocking like crazy on the half-shaft

Hi Matt, and thanks for your offer. Please let me know if/when you get a chance to look. And Joe, I have copied your thoughts on the wheel bearing to the guys at the workshop : it'll be interesting to hear what they have to say in due course! Best wishes, Simon
