We are always happy to assist other owners with spares. After all, we want to ensure that as many DAFs as possible stay roadworthy.
We don't have absolutely everything but it's always worth enquiring, you may be surprised what we do have in stock. The majority of our spares are used, although we do have a small supply of NOS items.
Sometimes parts hauls become available and members are asked whether they would like to contribute towards the costs of obtaining these; they can then take spares as and when needed from the parts barn.
We do break DAFs but only ones that are too far gone to realistically restore. Whilst we don't like to break them, we have to take a pragmatic approach to ensure that we will always have spares available for those DAFs still on the road, or indeed others which are in the process of being recommissioned.
Naturally, spares cars cost us money. Equally Essex DAFs' barns are rented and although the rental costs are reasonable they have to be covered. We do therefore have to ask for small considerations in return for any spares supplied and try to keep costs low. We trust you will understand our position.
Of course, quite often owners find that they have spares tucked away which they may not need and be willing to pass onto another owner. We wholeheartedly encourage this practice and it's what we would ideally like to do ourselves. If you have any spares that may of use to others then please start a thread and get posting!

I can wholeheartedly vouch for the outstanding work that the good folks at Essex Daf do with regards to helping out fellow Daf'fers.
It is a huge task to sort out the spares and to get hold of them in the first instance and many thanks to ED for taking the time and effort.
If you do need a spare then give Matt or Pete a nudge. Highly recommended.

Thanks Ken. Well, I had the pleasure of seeing the Derbyshire spares yesterday. It's mainly 66 parts including vario parts, a 66 door and numerous other parts, not to mention two engines (one for spares). For air cooled owners then of interest should be a 33 bonnet, grill and two doors. Also an 850cc engine which seems to turn over nicely. Pictures to come soon in the Essex DAFs thread.

We have lots of headlight surounds so I'm sure we can find screws and grommets from somewhere John. I'll ask Matt to rummage through the nut and bolt tin at the weekend.

Sweet ! Thanks Pete.
The ones On my YA appear to be the metal variety (there had been some banter with Rich P. that they were plastic) and these would be more desirable. However, a full set of 6 plastic ones (plus a right side surround) would be fantastic. ;D
I have a spare left surround and a center section (thanks to E.D.) but it would be nice to have a complete spare grille...just in case.
Cheers, John

So you'd like another right headlight surround? I think we have more of those than there are cars left to fit them to! By right and left do you mean when sat behind the steering wheel looking forward? I'm quite sure any grommets will be rubber (never seen a YA66 at Essex DAFs, let alone parted one out! ) so if it is YA specific I'd be shocked if we have it! Hopefully rubber ones will do the trick for now.

On your side of the Pond and from a British point of view from behind the wheel...... it would be the Driver's side I'd be wanting. I already had the "passenger" side (UK) one here plus the grill you sent. ;D I know you will come through as you always have Pete. Cheers, John
