Ok, try disconnecting the wires to the electric valve just in case someone's messed about with the wiring at some point. There's a rubber boot covering one end which should pull off and two spade connectors under it. Disconnect one of those - which will keep the valve de-energised regardless of what the switches and wiriing are doing - and see if it makes a difference.

hello , no the switch is off (i guess off is with the light off) and the brake lights are working properly . cheers d Off when the lights of correct. If the as the 44 if its switched on the light should go out as you press the brake pedal as well if it doesn't then someones been fiddling with wiring. This vid should give you a bit of a bench mark as to what a 33 in fine fettle should sound like on the road, the one in the video is the The DAF forum webmasters car.

They didn't have clips as standard, but it's a good idea to use them for peace of mind

Mine are all the same size and she seems to run well enough. I'd just take a couple to a motor factors to copy.

Yes I do, but it can get fiddly tightening the clips as they end up so close to each other. It shouldn't make much difference really so long as they are securely fitted. They wouldn't have had jubbly clips fitted when they left the factory.

As long as they don't leak, no clips required.
The original hoses were quite springy and gripped the stubs well, they weren't reinforced like fuel hose. If you're using less springy hose, then clips may be required to get them to seal.
