theres enough force in them to make fingers very thin... and that includes the bone.... That's why I use my thumb to keep them apart, but then, we are built to last in Yorkshire

DAF/Volvo 66 belts are exactly the same as V300 ones. true but 44 55 belts are slightly smaller. I cant imagine anyone trying to fit a 33 belt as it would obviously be wrong but a 44 55 belt maybe a different matter

i was under the impression and having had 44 55 belts next to 46 66 v300 belts that teh swing axle belts are considerably larger

30/1/2/3 belts are the shortest. About 1225mm.
44/55 belts are the longest. About 1620mm long.
66/300 belts are 1340mm long.
Given the differences, there's no way you'd get the wrong original belt on. However if you pick random industrial belts in a cheapness quest it can be wrong.

I've had a look at the old Roflex belts, and they do seem to be the correct ones for a Volvo 300, acccording to this thread on V3M: www.volvo300mania.com/uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8148As Toyah said, it's a mystery. On the plus side, the new belts are wonderful and the car is so much nicer to drive.

I don't know the difference between a Roulunds Roflex-Vari 435 and a 403 series belt. Abby has K9 403 in that length/width rather than MR 435s. I haven't got a Volvo belt loose this side of the water to measure, but from memory the Roulunds belts are a tad wider (around 1 or 2mm), a bit shorter (around 20mm) and the side angles might be slightly different too. If you can, just fit Volvo ones, saves buggering about and you don't wake the neighbours up in the morning with the howl at the start of the day....
