Hi Folks,
Sue and myself took Celia up for the MOT today, and they've just rung her to say it's failed. Typically, Sue is panicking about an "extensive list" of failure items, but from what I can glean from it all it just needs a tyre (which will no doubt involve the purchase of at least two!), an outer track rod end (which I have) and inner tie rod ends. Which I don't.
Any suggestions for suitable replacements for those? They seemed just fine to me but may show a bit of play to be honest.
I'll publish the full list as soon as I have it, but I doubt it's really that bad.

Any suggestions for suitable replacements for those? 1) DAF Owners' Club 2) Ebay 3) Howard Robinson at Collector's Car Parts, Sipson, Heathrow, Middx Before you end up on the continent. Very small things and JdB tried VW ones but the don't work as inners as they are bulkier and clash in the middle. I don't think I've any left-hand threaded ones in stock at all.

Thanks Richard, I'll get my tracking trousers on!
Just spoken to the MOT man and actually that's all it failed on.
Advisories are a pinholed exhaust pipe, slightly corroded coil spring, slightly corroded brake pipe, and two slightly perished tyres. There's also slight corrosion to one sill but we knew that and will get that done properly once and for all along with the door bottoms.
Splendid!

Fret not Matt, we're all sorted now thanks to Richard - found some other goodies whilst looking for bits tonight, including a NOS light switch. Celia's is rather tough and is hard to go to sidelights without going all the way down! Hopefully by the end of the week, or early next, she'll be back on the road.....

Good to talk again Howard. I was mistaken when I thought I didn't have left-hand threaded inners. I thought I'd take a look upstairs on the off chance - and blow me - they were some. LDC to the rescue this time (Leinster DAF Centraal)

Sir Richard is quite the treasure trove of information Howard. You are quite lucky he had them for you...They seem to be a very hard item to obtain. Even DAFHobby had no inventory of them for almost a year and as far as locating them on flea-Bay your chances are 1 in a billion. John
