I am now the proud owner of "The Spalding 66" A 1973 SL in green. 15000 miles on the clock, appears all original.
Thanks to Richard B and LincsMike who took time to go and check it out, and to Trish the custdodian who contacted DOC instead of scrapping her.
There is work to be done, and hopefully I will add to this thread with photo's as things progress, but the car is well worth saving and is generally in decent nick.
As mentioned in another post, the first job for me is to get her drawing her own fuel. This morning I dropped the tank to check for corrosion on the recess and found it to be in decent condition, the rubber pipe was perished at the end so I cut it back to good rubber and, after some rustproofing reconnected it all up and refitted.
I have tried sucking fuel up the pipe from the pump end but got only vapour, that led me to think air was getting in the system. When the tank was off, I sucked on the pipe and got a mouthfull of petrol so the tank end is fine.
Looking like it needs a new line front to back.

id pop the pipe off on the tank end and then blow down it from the engine bay end and see if it flows air ok, could simply be some crud sat in it somewhere, also if the fuel pump diapgrahm.

Replaced the bit at the tank end and it did the trick ;D Now running under her own steam. Here is a pic or three

Thanks Matt Bodywise, the usual places have a little rust but all in all not bad at all, certainly no panels have to go. Ideally I would like to replace the front wings but they are not bad TBH. As for names.... what is the etiquette re. duplicating names? I have one in mind but I'm sure it is already in use.

Well done John, she looks a real peach!
With regards to naming conventions...at EDC we tend to give them female names and they are almost always derived from their registration numbers.

or previous owners. Sadly I couldn't use the name Ruth as that was a former friend whom Mrs. PBK dislikes. Ho hum.

I think "DOTTY" (DO in plate) might be fitting name for this beauty.
She is a treasure John. VERY nice find.
