Well done on the MOT John. I am sure you will uncover many Tin Worm holes on the 66. The main areas you need to check are underneath where the rear springs are mounted to the body, the boot floor at the rear valance, wheel arches, rear quarter panels and of course the front wing area just forward of the doors. Been there, done that. John

Well done that man! Now, in the 'been there done that camp' the trick is to actually crack on with the body instead of just enjoying driving her - which is where I was three years ago... ;D

Update to thread.
Let me think..... As before, the speedo is now fixed and an alternative part sourced, CV boots done, brake hoses done, engine serviced and running spot on, fuel lines done, heater fixed, ball joints done (thanks to Paul), new shoes (hub caps) thanks to Matt. Tyres replaced. So, the mechanicals are just about sorted hopefully.
I got some rear shockers from Steve this week, so I can pop them on anytime, I will also be replacing the door seals if Woolies come up with the goods (got outers just need inners) Plus other little cosmetic bits will keep me happy/busy for a while.
A visit to the body shop changed my plans slightly. The plan was to now book a respray, but due to work load the guy cannot fit me in for 2 months. Bearing this in mind, and the fact that it will take a while to fit front wings and do the other welding, rather than be without her for most of the summer I am going to enjoy her as she is for a short time and book the respray/welding for Sept. It is going to be a full strip and glass out job so well worth waiting for.

So, this will probably be the last update on this thread for a while. Dotty is now just about finished and unless something goes horribly wrong I shouldn't need to add much from now on. The most recent job I did was the diaphragms. For anyone wanting to tackle this job, it is not difficult but it is fiddly, I got some excellent advice from Steve before starting, and asked around on the forums. All I will say is, get the car as high as possible preferably on a garage ramp. Do the offside first as it is easier to get to. The techniques learned on that side will serve you well for the awkward side. Here are some pics of Dotty taken today. The location is quite special, a beauty spot 5 mins from my house where a family friend used to let me drive her 44 and park it when I was about 14.

It's that time of year again for Dotty, the MOT ! I shouldn't have worried, took her in at 8.15am this morning, by 9.30am they rang to say she passed with no advisories Another year of fun to look forward to.

Great news! Are you going to break to the 2,000 mile barrier this year?
