I figured as there are 2 sites and some seem to use one or the other and maybe some use both that I would put up a wee thread on each site just to be sure. At least folk what my Daf looks like now I guess. Yes, I have been offered theuse of a mig Nick. But I've not gotten near it yet. It's a big mig with a great big bottle of argonshield on the end. I'm gona check the right settings etc for working on light metal and hopefully do things right. The plan is once I've the front oil seal done I can make a start on the welding / painting bits. I've tried coming up with mental images of repairs pieces I need to cut out / renew. I will keep you informed of when I'm at that stage and no doubt ask for advice

Hi guys. Does anyone have any basic tips for removing a front wing? Or is it a case of just cutting it off? I'm wanting to replace a front wing or both. I have sourced two replacements . Thanks

It's just a case of mechanically wire brushing to expose the spot welds then drilling them out, that will release the old, and the new can be tacked on after LOADS of fiddly alignment. Even if you don't use a proper spot weld drill you can fill the holes with weld then grind to shape.
