If anyone is working on or will be working on a DAF 850cc Twin I think you might find this helpful...... I had to replace this bearing while overhauling my 850cc in the Kalmar Van. DAF original part # 3-31-809348 obviously does not cross over to anything but I knew the bearing measured 22mmx65mmx17mm. The simple solution would have been to purchase a new bearing. One major problem with that train of thought...that bearing has not been made for over 20 years and finding a NOS one was impossible. The Clutch shaft on an 850cc measures 22mm OD...the replacement bearing (SKF 6305-2RSJ) measures 25mm ID. Problem!! The ONLY solution is a reducing bushing effectively taking the 25mm ID down to 22mm ID. A trip to my local Auto rebuilder (who does all my Starters & Generators) provided me with a Bronze Bushing. It did need some sanding and a little work with a File (because it needs a snug fit). Final product... This little trick makes it very easy to find replacement bearings. A standard off-the-shelf # 6305-2RSJ Bearing can now be used for years of worry free motoring. John

Facts getting in the way of a good story there John? It's not impossible at all, just not at a price you're prepared to pay. www.dcnwebshop.nl/?catalogproduct/884362/Speciaallager+vliegwiel+DAF+31+-33,+44,+46,+Kalmar+en+Pony.aspx In fact, if you do a bit of leg work, a 6305/22 bearing isn't that unusual. But I agree the simple (cheap) solution is to bush out a standard 6305 with either a steel backed split plain bush, like you have, or alternatively bush it out with an plain Oilite bush.

Granted, they are available through the DCN. BUT...at a bleedin' 70,00 Euro ($ 98.00) each. Plus postage ?? ?? I suppose if you want to piss your money away, but as for me...not a chance in Hell Rich. ;D ;D Cost of a 6305-2RSJ bearing= $ 7.00 Cost of Bushing= $ 2.50 Cost of postage= $ 0.00= $ 9.50 (7,37 Euro) .....Which option sounds more appealing ?? Obviously the DCN has commissioned a small (expensive) run of these probably from (FAG Bearings) the original supplier. DAFHobby also has them available here; www.dafhobby.nl/daf_produkt.php?idnr=367&title=Lager%20koppelingshuis%2031/32/33/44/46To avoid any confusion between inner & outer. Item # 24 is the bearing in question... Which mounts in the lump (not the actual housing) and is a support bearing. John

Anyway, while we're at it, the bush there is similar to an INA EGB2220-E40 / EGB2215-E40 (depending on whether it is 15mm or 20mm deep) Split plain bronze bush, steel backed.
