I'd be inclined to take the old one with you Marcus, they should be able to find another based on the length when pieced together. I've seen both toothed and 'v' section belts, both seem to do the job. If you've yet to fit one, you can do so through the little clip on cover and feeding the belt around the fan; it's tight but possible.

Handy that list John.... ...but FA use on this continent Just a standard auxiliary drive V-belt (either 9.5mm or 10mm wide) with a length of 710mm to 725mm. You should be able to bag one in Halfords tomorrow (or other local car shop of choice open on a Sunday) The Gates EUROPE catalogue list a 725mm belt for both B74 (746cc) and B85 (844cc) engines, although I would have thought the length used would hinge more on whether or not the dynamo/alternator pulley was the same diameter?? between models. The Gates EUROPE part number is 6209MC (aka AVX10 x 725La <<<< which is the more common way to describe belts here) Continental Contitech belts list it as an AVX10 X 710 and Quinton Hazell a QBA 713. So take your pick between a 710, 713 or 725mm. Now looking at John's first couple of belts. The 7270 is by all accounts 27 5/8" long and the 7295 is 30 1/8". That in useful measurements is 702mm and 765mm. Oh and btw John, there's more than one belt length used on a B14 motor. Now as it happens Marcus, Joe already answered this question some time ago here : essexdafs.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=spares&action=display&thread=359(Halford HB 713A)

not too bad, impellor shroud off, impellor off, feed it through the gap where the oil cooler has pipes but no fins and over the pulley, rest is easy..

Good stuff and for the record Marcus used a 713 length belt.
