Just wanted to confirm that the day I spent at Central was bloody brilliant. Thanks Lewis for doing the meat product cooking without causing any digestion problems. Cheers to Joe for turning Snowstrop back into Snowdrop (I hope she was driven into the line up and not pushed) and thanks to Sian for the non-tea orientated beverages. Good to see Steven and Andy too. I was enjoying getting stuck into the sill job on Mimi and should have that finished on the next visit. Then onto the wheel arches! Lovely to see 'VUF' at Central. Pete, can you take vast amounts of piccies for me? Can't wait to see her in the steel. Let me know where to get a battery from and I will do that at the end of the month.
Thanks again to all concerned, especially Matt and Pete and Farmer George.

Glad you enjoyed yourself Ken and next time you'll have Snowdrop so will have to get a pass for the whole weekend! The type battery you need is a 6v 404 (Matt please confirm) and I'll look on eBay when I get the chance. I think Lewis (Drivenbyclassics) knows where to get them for a good price.

Cheapest 404 I have been able to find was £94 and I am still baulking over the price hence why there isn't one at Pete's yet.
Ken if you wanted to go halves id help you get one that could be used between all the 6v on a time share arrangement.

I still can't beleive the prices for a 6 volt Battery in the UK & in Europe..... Here I can find any number of them from various manufacturers for around $50.00-65.00 (that would be 30.00-40.00 P) and have a 5 year Warrantie. Too bad they are already filled...otherwise it would be easy to ship over a few. John

I seem to remember at the Norwich Classic Car show that Lewis told you he had a supplier for these and the price was quite reasonable, about £45?
Or did I imagine it in a dream...

One hint on the batteries - if possible avoid the "period rubber cased" ones. They stopped using rubber cases for a very good reason. They split and leak and eat your inner wings - one case where modern (plastic) materials are definitely better than traditional appearances!!!
