i'll just leave this here...
was a bit concerned as had moved engine away from being static timed when I was rotating the rods to do the big ends up and couldnt remember if the dizzy drive went in then or after the pulley was on the front.
Procedure as follows,
temporarily fit crank pulley, line up timing marks
drop dizzy drive in (will only go in in one place as the cutout on the shaft is there to get it get past the drive gear)
temp put dizzy in see which side the rotor is pointing to (in my case RHD looking from front)
gently rock engine back an forth whilst feeling to check the tappets are both on the move on the left side (on the rock so to speak)
breathe sigh of relief and bolt it all back together..
find 6v battery is dead as a doorknob wont hold any appreciable charge
desulphate battery, now will hold enough charge for ignition circuit
use oil sucking device to pull petrol past the fuel pump to the top of the fuel line by the carb (save endless priming)
turn engine a few rotations and realise the fuel pump is shot
strip shroud, fan , dynamo, dynamo brackets off to get to fuel pump
find you cant for the love of god get LH heat shields off the barrel no matter what you do with fuel pump in place, nor can you get to back bolt of fuel pump
take top off fuel pump, fit s/hand 33 top which seems to have valve action
refit bits,
turn engine by hand find good pulses of fuel so fill small jar
whip top off carb using oil sucker hoover all the crap out the bottom, whip jets out blow through them with aerosol carb cleaner
use oil sucker to slurp through all the ports on the carb (you can hear it clearly in the venturi when it clears crap)
refill float bowl with the naked petrol pipe, refit float, carb top etc
turn a couple of times to finalise fuel level,
try throttle lever
confirm fuel pumps from accelerator jet
give it a couple of squirts...
