We're having a gentle cull here at Essex DAFs and a couple of cars need to go to caring new homes.
One of them is Tigga, our 32.
For those unfamiliar with 32s, they are the previous model to the 33. No surprise there then! They tend to have plusher interiors, a different dashboard layout and different external trim. Otherwise they are pretty much the same. Mechanically the engines have slightly smaller valves than the 33 which makes then every so slightly slower. They also have a mechanical pintle valve rather than the electrical box of tricks controlling the vacuum system.
Tigga has no papers and a bit of an identity issue. The number plates relate to a blue 1969 DAF33 which clearly she is not, so any buyer would need her reregistering. The club is happy that she is a 32, a representative having inspected her and indeed she wears a 32 vin plate.
Her body has a rust patina but underneath that she is pretty sound, needing welding to the sill ends. Her interior is all there albeit the original foam in her dashboard has crumbled away (they all do that sir!). She still has her original dash with some new foam or you could do away with it and put in a 33 dashboard which we could most probably supply used, or new items are available from the Netherlands.
Mechanically, we have never had her running and suspect her engine is seized. Replacement engines are available if required. Otherwise there is the nearside front shock absorber mount that needs replacing.
There is plenty of brightwork in her boot and also a speedometer in mph (the early 32s had KPH speedos which Tigga still has).
Interested parties to contact me with sensible offers, if they are too low I'll tell you and if not I won't.
If there's no takers then she will appear on the 'bay.
