Guts of the 66 Primary pulley Those bits? I'll take a wild guess (without knowing the size of the smashed bits)and say they could possibly be the remnants of a bearing. you can check out some more photos here: 66 Vario Service

Hi John, Thanks for the reply, the bits of metal I found jammed were in the main part of the drive, between the planet wheels etc, other than the diagphram, the inners of my air bellow parts all look good. I am thinking its maybe an oil throw washer that has broken up

Could be the remnants of an oil seal. What is was will need closer inspection. Been thinking (a dangerous past time for me)... Why would the entire rear, including wheels, lock for a wonky propshaft ?? ?? I have never encountered that during prop failure since normally the rubber cone will spin out but the prop will still turn by hand. Logic tells me to check the Primary gearbox....fluid level and a possible sheared gear. Interested to learn some details. John
