I have never been upset by points but do like the electronc option the last one I bought was £25 and it got rid of the condenser and the points and the need to set them I found plugs didn't burn so much or the cap or rotor. It also meant service time was oil and filters only it made it quicker so I found a quick grease gun and oil change was done more often as the cost was less and the time meant it could almost be done at the traffic lights if you see what I mean. What it did mean was that I had to remember to lube the dizzy. Must admit I do now at an oil check with the drips off the dipstick onto the felt pad

Been looking and talking to an electronic ignition maker and it looks like I have a kit or will have for the daf 2 cylinders both 6 and 12 v versions. Just awaiting the price but I am looking at about £50 per kit tops depending on a couple of outcomes. Exciting isn't it. No more services for me.
Looking into everlasting oil now lol or self changing. Isabel's changing her oil slowly all by her self. But my drive does face down a steep slope. He he he !

I'll look forward to seeing the electronic ignition Ozzy.
Your leak is more than likely coming from the bottom of the pushrod tubes. They have felt washers which give out after a while but iirc they are not expensive and can be changed in situ with a but of a kerfuffle.

DAF Nut
Those who say it can't be done, should not interupt the people doing it !

Unless they have come up with something brand new (which I am not aware of) there is not a single manufacturer which has a compatible system for the Bosch dizzy....believe me I tried a few years ago and even sent a DAF (Bosch) dizzy to a few for trials. Everyone came back but they could not match the ignition curve. I'd be interested to see what you receive that is not for the Citroen 2Cv motor.

John, Do you read all the posts? Wind back to the first page and read my post again about the Pertronix Ignitor. As it's a Hall effect arrangement, it does only replace the points. The advance curve is still taken care of by the bob weights.
Fully electronic? Well it's simple enough to throw the whole dizzy in the bin and program up a microcontroller....

My version is a mix of a fiat 126 or 500 rotor. It replaces the rotor arm. Or I am looking at a ( now think about it ) a Renault 4 banger rotor but with 2 of the ignighters removed. Then the unit that affixes the base plate being for the bosh base plate with an adjustment slot to get a bit of movement. Ie it might fit 2 or 3 base plates. It does not have to fix very tight as long as it doesn't move in relation to the plate. Bear in mind it does not have to take a knock from the dizzy lobes. It just sits there.
Now 6 v version and 12 v version both negative earth. Has any one got my drift yet. I might get it to fit all cars. The curve is still set up by the Bob weights and the vacuum . It's a simple solution. Will let you know what the outcome is Remember the company that makes the components make the kits for most cars so it's only a matter of selecting the parts from different kits. Simples hence the r and d is £0 and the company sells a few extra kits . They are not doing anything I am just saying to them sell me a base plate receiver from a xxxx and a rotor from a yyyyy as long as they speek the same language ire resistance all is well and bobs your uncle.
Or so I am led to believe By the way the fiat is a mag marelli dizzy not a bosh. Just awaiting an email back.
Will let you know.
