Ignore them. The 66 coupe is the prettiest of the B bodies by far. It's got the kamm tail and slab sided front, none of that melted piece of gouda pretending to be a bonnet malarkey. Be proud of what you have!

Joe...who was it that wanted a 55 but had to settle for a 66 coupe Wasn't me, I wanted to stick with aircooled cos they're the limit of my fixing abilities. And I can't speak for Sian's taste in cars

The coupe is the one I would have if I didn't like the underdog. ( being a saddo) The marathon with a v8 and big back tyres and front lifted onto a beam axel gasser style is the way forward laugh out loud Not really I know I keep winding you up about v8s I have a 3.5 litre sitting by my garage and a vw air cooled 1600 4 banger to use.
The marathon is a nice looking car bring it on

Ozzie, there's a sedan shell on ebay that's going for scrap money - if you want to make a DAF gasser, here's your opportunity ;-) Linky here !

Just dropped that guy a message to see what's included - is it just the shell or a whole car in bits? The shell looks pretty sound from what's visible but it's not too much use for most people without running gear and interior

I left him the same message I wonder if it doe sent go it's got to be worth a cheeky offer for repair parts or re shell after an accident. Some one save it. Otherwise it might get weighed in. I am not ready for gasser building just yet but thanks for thinking of me. Don't keep teasing me as I have a sick mind how about a shortened 33 or a stretched limo version. I could be tempted to do something one day . So start saving those a bodies for me.
No don't worry I wouldn't do it but hang on a mo double drive axels at the rear on a home brewed pickup no hang on a mo add a fith wheel and articulated trailer now we are talking custom dafs here we come.......

Im afraid DAF beat you to it and made a 5th wheel truck based on 44 running gear. It was called the Pony. They are pretty rare these days but I do know of at least 1 in the UK. There was also a rigid pickup version. and a military version which looks awesome. and of course there is also the link up with Kalmar Verkstad, I think I spelt that right but not sure, in Sweden. They made the Kalmar post van which again was based on the 44. John de Bruin (the bear) is restoring one.

Well, I asked him if "it's a complete (disassembled) car or are there parts missing?" and he's replied just that "yes, there are parts missing" without any indication of what they might be.
He's also chosen NOT to post the question or answer to the listing (pretty sure the default choice is to post it?) so my gut is saying avoid like the plague!

He's rather laconic with information on the car, isn't he ? I don't really blame him, nobody sane would spend time writing a 3000 word essay to sell a £50 car.
It's a shame the car is so far away from me, I would be very tempted to go and have a look.
