Well, the cat's now out of the bag. Myself and Howard of Bristol DAFs have been spending this week in Vermont and tonight surprised Mr DeBruin when we turned up unannounced at the DCA HQ in Mt Tabor. We will be reporting further on our return.

when we turned up unannounced at the DCA HQ in Mt Tabor Bet the old man's face was a picture! Look forward to reading about your jolly boys outing and you better play around with some shootahs down the range. It'd be rude not to.

Imagine my shock when these two suddenly exited a black Ford Mustang Cabriolet...they had named "Dennis" Obviously I was well prepared for visitors.......NOT. I had just crawled from underneath SARGE after topping off Gear Oil in the Primary...LOL John

It was an ABSOLUTE PLEASURE to see two of my UK friends suddenly pop up and surprise me so completely. Not to worry Pete & Howard....revenge is mine. Our weekender was a huge success (even though the media never bothered to attend). We had some stunning moments when this beautiful original survivor came up from Alabama (1600 miles)... Brian's 1960 DAF-USA model is in remarkable non-rusted condition. Brian also made the custom trailer just for this car. The crowing achievement during the weekender was the arrival of one of the rarest DAFs in the world... ...and it was able to sit in my Museum for two days... ONLY 1 OF 2 KNOWN IN THE WORLD...A 1967 DAF Shellette which is being meticulously restored down to the smallest details by DCA member Charles Strickler. A good time was had by all. New friends made and old friendships renewed. John

It has taken many hours during the last two years in order to get the Shellette to this point John and she is still not 100% ready to run yet. Electrical issues still need attention, Exhaust needs to be fabricated and one of the Cylinder heads needs to be replaced due to damage at the restoration shop in 2013 (not my error, but the shop owner). All in all it is coming along and should be roadworthy by Spring 2016. It is a far cry from when I first saw the DAF in August, 2013... John
