Hi, got the Pick-up out of 18 months storage, found on trying brakes pulled to n/side, once on the lift found drum full of brake fluid from very leaky wheel cylinder. My local motor factor supplied me with a pair of MGB rear wheel cylinders[decided to do o/side as well].Cleaned the brake shoes to remove all signs of fluid. Then a quick coat of oil on the underside[not on the belts of course], a brake adjust all round and off to the MOT Test station for a pass..................starider

Hi, thanks for that. I have always, once a year, sprayed the underside with oil[on all my cars],it keeps the rust worry at bay and as a "by product" most nuts and bolts undo more easily. It could be said the oil may damage rubber bushes, but it's far less of a job to occasionally change the odd bush than varied amounts of welding, although in all the years I have done this, I haven't had to replace a bush due to oil damage.......................starider
