Well, obviously for a wealth of used spares there's always Essex DAFs of course! Contact us on essexdafs@hotmail.co.uk If you need spares from DAF Owners Club (for which you need to be a member) then your man is Steven Bidwell and his e-mail address is bolsover@bolsover.co.uk. DAF Owners Club UK can supply new drive belts and many new consumables. If your part is a little more elusive then Danny at DAFHobby can usually help. Danny's written and spoken English is very good and he has an impressive amount of stock in lovely new premises. Of course, DAFfers are well natured and helpful types so a 'spares wanted' ad on any of the owners clubs forums may yield results!

Rust protection/prevention is vital for all cars of a certain age and I can vouch for how effective the products are from this company. Well worth checking out and they are very friendly and helpful too: www.bilthamber.com/Ken

More electrical stuff, including some 6v items: www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/homeThey do 6v halogen bulbs that are a straight swap for the standard P45t ones used by 33's (and possibly 44's??) Would recommend fitting relays with these though because they're 60/55w instead of 45/40w for the standards so will draw about 2.5 amps extra per bulb. Well worth it for the difference in lighting power though! Brake bits for 33s: www.minisport.com/mini-spare-parts/Mini_Wheel_Cylinders_to_suit_Rear_Drum_Brake_Systems.htmlShoes are same as Mini rears all round. Rear cylinders are 19mm / 0.75" Mini rears, front cylinders are supposed to be 15/16" but the same 0.75" ones work well, giving a slightly firmer pedal.

www.collectorscarparts-heathrow.co.uk/The shop that time forgot. It is located on in the north side of Heathrow Airport in the village of Sipson. Fortunately it didn't get a third runway on top of it. Mainly pre-1980 British stuff, but exhausts can be made up and the like. Speak to Howard and he'll see if he can help. He's not always able to get to the phone, so do try and ring again if you don't get an answer - he's only got one pair of hands!

Needed some starter motor brushes for the Ducellier starter on Boris, having got semi-stranded last week. Lots of places list Lucas stuff, but Ducellier seem to be a little harder to find. Yesterday afternoon I found these online: www.jcrsupplies.co.uk/They didn't have them listed but had some Bosch ones slightly bigger (happy to file them down), so I gave them a call. Very helpful guy answered but couldn't find the starter model listed so he took the sizes and said he'd call back. About 10 minutes later he called back, confirmed they had them and could supply at £7.16 delivered. Ordered a set, and they arrived this morning Now just need to brave the weather to fit them .....
