I have a spare engine, so looked at that. From above, the pulley is a little smaller diameter than the oil cooler, but not much. Its about 100mm, so its probably a different pulley. I will have to do the same, take the cover off and more accurately measure the one in use in case that is different again.
I do not yet have an alternator, no no measurement for that yet.

Dar Bob, I've just replied to you about your fuel tank on the Daf Forum. If you want a spare regulator I have one and it's yours for the postage, a pint & a pork pie!

Andrew, i tried to put this pic in the Petrol Tank message, but the message disappeared, dont know what I did!
The tank cant go in yet, the edges around the tanks aperture in the boot have to be re-instated, its been cut in places, previous owner again!! And the fuel line is not the original, it ends with a female fitting and an olive on the pipe. That end will have to be changed to suit the tank, but I cant find anything to fit. The old tank went ages ago, I do not know what connection was on it (I stored the louvred cover in the boot.)

Hi, I was not implying your engine pulley could be smaller but that the alternator may be. Your engine pulley is almost certainly 124 mm.O/dia.I believe Andrew has engines stripped so should be able to confirm.

I was thinking exactly that! I have an enormous vernier scale, which is able to measure to over 350mm, well over the size of the pulley. My two spare engines are in my lock-up, which is some distance from my house, so I'll pop round at some stage soon & measure the pulley, although I can't do it as quickly as I should like to, as a result of the travel restrictions.

Hi Andrew,I used a vernier calliper on my pulley, so the measurement is very accurate.I don't believe there were any different sizes of engine pulley on 33s. I'll have a look in the 33 parts manual which will confirm if there were more than one size.

Hi, refitted the engine today, all running and much quieter[new exhaust system fitted]. Just needs a rear mounting making and fitting onto the new rear cross member and the rear expansion box added. If it isn't raining tomrrow will have a very short drive to make sure everything works as it should[no bonnet, doors lights etc.fitted so it will be a very quick in and out!!].

Chickened out of driving on the road, just my luck to get caught, so use the track down to one of our fields, that has just been stoned.Ran really well but found the electric vacuum valve wasn't working,so that needs sorting,it's then re-underseal and then fit new drive belts before starting the bodywork.
