Time for Yolander to have a thread..
Yo was bought some time ago from John Smith of Harwich..1 of only 5 55 estates known at this time in this country..the other 4 are known to me including Nell my other 55 estate.. (ex Eric car)..in light orange.. The others are in blue, red and dark green..
Yo has been off the road for about 3/4 years but now is receiving work to put her back on the road..where all Dafs belong..
Not a massive project but still enough to do..complete exhaust exchange, stolen from Nell as it's a Marathon exhaust system..and love the sound..😊..and a complete brake overall.. The Volvo GLS alloys that are currently on Dorothy will also be transferred to Yo.. And as she has sat for 3/4 years,I'm sure something else will need looking at..even a possibility of a leaking manifold to sort..😯..
Next job..replace a fraded brake hose..

Progress on Yo today....then 2 steps back..
Exhaust system fitted but sounds like a tank..😕..not the exhaust but the manifold..😢..this return to the road will take longer than hoped..just hope the manifold bolts don't break in the head..
When running Yo up,it became clear she didn't want to keep all her oil in the engine, the bottom pulley seal has given up and needs replacing..😕..a common water-cooled Daf issue..
However..not all bad..
With a visit from Dan today, the re-con front brake calipers with new pads and new front brake hoses were fitted..thanks for your help Dan..this took a while to do due to the interesting added nut on the old hoses..and also rust..
Next time the rears will be looked at and then a system bleed..manifold and seal after that..

More progress has been made on Yo..but Yo clearly happy to stay in the new barn..😕..
Rear brakes are on going but progress has been made..with the help of Dan..(much appreciated)..and very limited time for us to work on Yo,things are starting to come together..
Manifold had been sorted..but due to not running Yo up by myself when I refitted it,due to limited time I might add..I'm finding myself having to repeat this process ðŸ˜..but this time the gasket has separated so even more work 😕..
On the plus side..a Marathon tailpipe has been fitted and she has a lovely sound to her when she is running..😊..
All being well,fingers crossed..Yo..dare I say it..may see the tarmac soon..😉..
