Hello all,
I've just returned to the wonderful world of Dafs, having recently secured a late 46. Unfortunately I know im going to having to source a fair few parts and wondered if anyone could help me sourcing them?
Priority at the moment is for front wing lower repair sections (both sides having rotted away), a 44/46 interior (seats only - rats have had a field day with the originals) and a front lower plastic grill (the one on the 46 has an impact hole in it). Not asking much I know but if anyone can help, that would be grand.
Also, what is the best battery size for a 46?
Cheers, John

Welcome to the wonderful world of Dafs! From memory I think the battery for a Daf 44 or 46 is a 603, although I'm sure an owner will correct me if I am in error!

Welcome back..
Glad this 46 has been saved,it looked a decent car..
Front wings are a common area of rust, might have what you need in stock but would need to see pics please.. Are your seats beige in colour?.. Battery used on 12v Dafs is an 063.. Lower front panels all suffer with cracks/breakage due to the age, would need to check stock and might have a useable 1..
Please feel free to post a thread on the Essexdafs facebook page..
Regards Matt.

Thanks for the reply guys, much appreciated.
Correct battery has been ordered and I hope to start work on the 46 from after Easter. Matt, I can send you a video of the areas of the wing that are in need of repairing, would that be ok? It's specifically the lower bottom of the wing, where it meets the sill on both sides.
The seats were beige in colour and it would be great to keep with the original colouring but I would take any if available. Likewise with the lower panel.
Really annoying in that I sourced all the above mentioned parts when I had the 44 a few years back (spare nos grill included) but when our last little un came along I parted with the 44 and the parts, wish I had kept hold of both now, but hey ho, this 46 looks a great project.
Best wishes,
John

Hi John..
I'm sure I can sort something ref the wings,no need for a vid but please feel free to post some pics on here and the Facebook page if you wish..
Will need to check seat stock but expect a little recovering might be needed..so keep your seats..even if chewed they can still be used for parts..
Will need a little time as not at the barn so regularly at the moment (20 miles away) so please be patient..
Thanks Matt.

Hi Matt,
You're a star and there is no pressure time wise, thank you. I'll start putting up progress on the FB page although progress might be slow! Thanks for your help.

Hi, welcome, seems you have made a good source of parts using Matt at Essexdafs. Can I just say many of us Daf owners do not use FB at all, so would you kindly add your progress pics. etc. on these/daf proboards pages also. Many thanks.
