Hi all,
Will be shortly collecting my Daf 46 and the tyres need replacing. What is the correct size of tyres to use, if the originals are still available and if not, what is a good replacement? Many thanks for your advice in advance.
Cheers, John

The original size supplied was Michelin ZX 135/R14, but these are almost (if not totally!) impossible to obtain now. The nearest you’ll probably find would be a 145/70R14, which would have the same diameter. It might be worth popping into a decent tyre depot & ask for some advice, and a ‘phone call to Longstone Tyres (details on t’internet) would be useful. The next comment might sound a little “old school”, but remember that tyres are (or should be...) your ONLY contact with the road, and as such, your safely, if not your life (& that of your passengers and other road users) depends on them-DON’T compromise on them! As my teacher at college said when I was training as a mechanic over 40 years ago: “put the wrong oil in your car, it stops. Put the wrong tyres on it.... it doesn’t.....!”

Hi John..
Glad to hear you will be collecting this 46 soon.. If you find 145's are difficult to find, try 155 80 R 13's,you will of course need to find a set of 13" rims but this also gives you the option of alloys if you wish to fit some..
Matt.

Brilliant advice, thanks fellas. Alloys on the 46..... now there's a thought! I recently lost my storage, so was unsure if I could proceed with the 46 but thankfully I was able to secure better facilities, so it's now all on and full steam to get things moving!

Alloys look good on Dafs,it's finding them that's the issue.
