So true Matt,,,It is a "70's look" and/or "Rallye Look" but I am partial to the original look so it will be re-painted Mimosa when the rest of the car is done. Even though iit was a chilly -3 C all day I took "Postal Pete" outdoors to sand the roof and finish test fitting the rebuilt front and rear bumper assemblies... Another perfect fit. ;D As long as it stays so cold I can't do any Fiberglass work (I ended up taking the two Bumpers inside to Fiberglass and fill all the holes yesterday ) so all I can do for now is sand amd try to free up the steering columm, which is still locked even with the key in place. Can't do any fibre glassing? I bet you're gutted John! ;D PP is looking good though. Do let us know if you need another column.

Thanks guys.... ;D Yes Pete, I am gutted (but this too shall pass with warmer weather ) Today (Again at -3C) I finished up the sanding of the roof area. Ten years of outside grime and two seperate layers of finish paint all came off within a few hours. After that I did my best impression of Sherlock Holmes and investigated the cause of the Steering Lock problem... After disconnecting the actual columm, it rotated freely. The wheels still had no movement so off came the Tie Rod Ends, wheels now move freely as well. One item left to check out.... Yes, you guessed it. The Steering Rack is seized with not even a single Millemeter of play. Plus, it looks like there are two sheared mounting bolts so those will have to be drilled out tomorrow before I can even attempt to rebuilt it. John

I managed to remove the seized steering rack today and made a feeble attempt to break it down....NO SUCH LUCK! The rack is seized more solidly than Aunt Tilly's Corset and the grease holding it together is like concrete. Right now it is soaking a a vat of gasoline so I'll try again tomorrow. I could have taken another rack out of inventory...BUT, I only have inventory of four and they older spline/slide on style racks John

Sorry to hear that John.
If you can't shift it then take some photos of it and we'll try to find a decent replacement for you from our stock.

True Rich... I have no "T-Bar" rack spares came on the DAF 32/33 and 44s and since Postal Pete is a RHD DAF the Rack will also need to be a RHD unit....I know for a fact I have no such animal in inventory. John
