Nice one Kev! Even has driving lights and the wooden dash! Wish mine had some goodies. Odd how they obscured part of the rear number plate when it leaves the garage scene. I'm sure Lou-Lou Belle will soon be purring along just like that one. Hope you don't mind - I embedded the video for you.

I've bought a set of Cibie quartz-halogen yellow foglamps, that I plan to fit to my 33 (named "Pooh", after her colour...) I had to buy some 6 volt bulbs too! I've bought a set of brackets used to fit fog and spot lamps to British Minis (none of that BMW pish in my house!) and I plan to fit them, a bit like those fitted to the Daffodil in "The Baron" and I'll keep the forum informed as to how things go....
I've also fitted some 6 volt halogen bulbs to the car, to which I have fitted yellow filters (a la French lights) and they look great & work fantastically! If anyone wants/needs some yellow filters, please get in touch!

This is a bit of an "anorak" moment, but I'm going to try and find where that short "Youtube" piece from "The Baron" was filmed with a view to a "then and now" set of pictures. The series was made in Elstree and many of the scenes were filmed in the area, which is near to where I live. Of course, I'll try and position my 33 in the same way as the blue Daffodil in the film! looks like there's a load of Google research and driving ahead of me-wish me luck!

Hold on tight, everyone, this might just be a long one.....
After popping over to see Ken this morning & dropping off a few bits we had a chat about life in general & both agreed that life's too short to waste working when there are cars (well, Dafs) to play with.
So, duly inspired I have fulfilled a promise made on this website many moons ago; that is, to try and re-capture the salient moments of the episode of "The Baron" embedded at the start of this thread!
The clip is only 3 minutes 26 seconds, but Angie (my wife) & I have spent about 6 hours driving from location to location to get the feel of the scenes (that did include "some time" spent in local hostelries for refreshment; it WAS hot!) We hope you enjoy our efforts! We've included map references were possible, for those wishing to re-trace our journey....
The first 9 seconds are shot in a studio, so no possibility of copying it. The next part, up to 20 seconds is filmed outside the Elstree Studios, to which access is forbidden, so no joy there. I also think some, if not all of the building has long since been demolished!
The first piece of location footage follows this; from 20 to 49 seconds, where the police refuse to believe The Baron's story is filmed at Baker's Hill, Barnet (map ref: TQ 261 972) and this is how it looks now:
From 49 to 55 seconds is filmed at Commonwood Road (map reference TL 047 003) and my wife drove that very same road in Pooh this afternoon...
From 55 seconds to 1:12 minutes the filming moves back to Elstree, at Buckettsland Lane, to be precise! The farm in the background, visible through the car's rear window is Buckettsland Farm (Map ref TQ 207 986) And, with a bit of artistic licence, this is how we acted it:
And drove it:
1:12 to 1:13 is at the bottom of the hill from Commonwood Road (map ref 015 015); I couldn't stand in the field, but it's as close as I could make it to the original:
From 1:13 to 1:17 is a piece of road I can't find, followed by a long piece, up to 2:24, filmed back at Baker's Hill, Barnet. The trees have grown up a great deal in 46 years, but it is recognisable.
From 2:24 to 3:00 is filmed Hogpits Bottom (no, honestly-we've been there!) The garage is now a private house, so Angie drove the Daf up to roughly where it would have stopped. I stood by the telegraph pole visible in the film as the actress gets out of the car. The white building next to the garage is clearly visible in the "now" clip.
3:00 to 3:26is filmed at The Builder's Arms, Hogpits Bottom. The pub's not changed much, as can be seen...
A GREAT pub, by the way; Aspall's cyder & excellent grub!
We hope you've enjoyed this Daf journey. I've ordered the complete "Baron" series, so there might be more of these later....
