Priscilla is a coupe yes, but not a Marathon Coupe. And as Howard rightly says, he has a red 66 MC like the one Pete has just bought from eBay. So that's 3 66MCs. If we are counting just coupes then I believe Simon Westerby has one too.

Thinking of selling up, not had any time to sort the brakes out and doesn't look like I'm going to get time for a while yet.

If you have the space for it to sit for a while, don't do anything hasty. You'll regret it if you do ps: Nick, Boris is Sian's not mine - believe me, that's a very important distinction

It's only been in your hands for a month right? Hell mate I've had a 31 since 2008 and I'm not done yet! I can hardly work on it on account of college! Don't feel bad! You'll get it done Vince

Hang in there and take your time. You're doing the right thing, trust me. Even when you're ready to start roaring ahead with work you'll realise that recommissioning a DAF cannot be rushed, they will progress at their own pace however much you try!
From experience I drove my 33 for a couple of weeks, got fed up with it not working properly and shoved it in the garage for 18 months before I could be arsed to do anything to it. I could easily have sold her on but didn't because I knew she was something special. Then i got the inclination again and some good advice. I had to change the propshaft, clutch and inlet manifold. So it took a good couple of years to put her back on the road and running half decent.
You have only just started on a long journey. It will eventually be rewarding!

[...] you'll realise that recommissioning a DAF cannot be rushed, they will progress at their own pace however much you try! Err, beg to differ but, when it's been sitting there for almost 6 months and you suddenly realsie that the first show of the season is 2 weeks away, and the owner is insistent that he SHALL go to the ball, and you realise that you still have to: Replace the brakes Refit the engine Weld about 6 square feet of tin in around the suspension Fit a windscreen Sort the electrics Get some paint on And get him through an MOT in those two weeks, then it can be rushed - on pain of your life not being worth living if he doesn' make it on time
