Evening!
Have spent the day working on our DAF 46 Estate project. We have removed the primary and secondary units, to sort out a failed diaphram in the primary. This we have now replaced, but can anyone confirm.... The new diaphrams metal centre was the other way up to the originals, i.e. the dish on the metal faced the other way. It all went back together ok, but have we made a mistake in assuming it was correct, or are their different types? Were we correct to add ATF to the centre of the primary for lubrication? And the pulley face on the secondary is quite rusted in places - localised but well pitted, on the outside edge. We have cleaned this up as best as we can, is a little rust / pitting acceptable or do we need to look for a better secondary? Thanks - Matt & Mark!

Matt/Mark...call me tomorrow later in the day please...will explain diaphram replacement and oil...rust on pulleys have to be delt with in curtain way,kills the belt if left

1) Diaphragm orientation look like this (scroll down half-way down the page) www.siteje.com/evenementen2009/hilversum.html2) A small quantity of ATF goes inside those drums. 3) Gear oil goes in the power divider between the drums.
