In case anyone wants to do the same, these pads are available on the bay cheap enough. I found the ones for Mercedes W126 S class needed very little trimming to fit our DAF bonnets. 11mm diameter Mushroom clips hold most of it in place, a couple of cable grips at middle top, and a little spray of contact adhesive middle bottom.

I've used this myself. Combination soundproof & heat shield & it's self adhesive. Makes a remarkable difference. John

That is a very neat job John, I like to see something that not only does the job but looks the part too. Yours looks factory fresh :-)
My current preferred system is the Dodo range, first a layer of Silent coat (nickname brown bread over here) then a layer of pro barrier mlv.
On Dotty I have done this on the bulkhead, hood and trunk to good effect.
