Thanks for checking Pete. I was able to locate a center cap (as well as new Type 1 turnsignal & horn levers) in Holland through one of my friends. It will be shipped out with an entire new Red interior for Nellie (the 44 type 1). ;D ;D ;D
I was VERY LUCKY that he still had everything from one he scrapped many years ago.

Took care of it Pete. This weekend, regretfully, saw no DAFfing at DAF Central. The weather did not co-operate at all. With Artic like cold, wind and lots of snow the entire idea of working out in the Garage was shelved. The entire weekend only averaged a nippy -16C (Thank you Canadian Air Flow) and it snowed almost all day on Saturday dumping roughly 4 inches. John

Ouch! -16C is pretty severe! Don't you guys get the gulf stream? Yes, we do get the Gulf Stream but...being 190 miles inland does not help us in Vermont. We also get hammered by the Canadian Jet Stream when it shifts down from the Artic circle. During that time -20C to -30C can be expected, possibly for weeks at a time. Last night(or should I say early this morning) we hit a -25C around 5am. It can happen anytime between January through begin March. John

LOL.... Actually the last three Winters we have been very lucky here since it has not been too severe. In my "neck of the woods" seeing -40C to -52C is considered "normal" for the middle of January in the Valleys...but much much colder up in the high Mountains when the wind blows. Now, THAT'S Cold !!!!! Everyone here mixes their car coolant for -40C every year, Engine Heaters as well as Electric Battery Blankets are standard equipment for every toolbox...it has become a necessary evil....because "You Just Never Know" John

Forum membership has steadily grown to 143 members since we started the forum in February, 2008 and there is a renewed interest in the DAF. This makes me very happy...yes sir!!! I also wanted to announce a change concerning the status of a few of our DCA members......... 1). As of today "bob04917" (Bob C.) and "dafman" (Vince C.) have been elevated to ADMINISTRATOR status for the forum site. The three of us now make up the DCA Executive Board of Directors2. "bob04917" has also been appointed as the official Webmaster for the DCA website. Congratulations to all...it should be a good team! John
