Oww. Arrived at the car today to find the drivers footwell full of water. This was due to a badly fitted window that wouldn't close properly or open. The reason for this was soon discovered in that the winder mechanism had been fitted by a chimpanzee and just couldn't work it was upside down and out of line. Getting the mechanism out with the window in place was not easy but I couldn't remove the window as it was jammed up by the winder mechanism. eventually I got both out and set about fitting them properly. It was at this point I discovered that the mechanism was not even the right one for the door on the car and the mounting holes where in the wrong place. Luckily the car came with a spare door with a smashed window. But this had the wrong mechanism for the glass. In the end I managed to get the first mechanism and glass to fit in the second door as thankfully the mounting holes all lined up. The difference between the two mechanisms was one used rollers along the bottom of the glass and the other bolts to a metal plate bonded to the bottom of the glass, the latter of the two is the one I have used and thankfully the window now works. Bonus to this is that the door it fitted too is the right colour so no more orange door Sorry no photos today the air was a little bit too blue.

Well I am now at the point where I cant progress any further without a new battery and thats got to wait till payday unfortunatly. She is now complete and in one piece, all locks and doors are working and all electrics seem to be in order.
I cant get on with the brakes untill I can get her running. As her brakes are partially seized we needed the help of a hill to get her off the transporter. I do not much fancy jacking her up on a loose ish surface with a steep gradient to free off the brakes. So the plan is to get her started and allow her engine to move her onto level ground and then I can do brakes and tyres.
Saying that I suppose it would probably be wise to give the engine a quick service and an oil change before attempting to start it.

Right oh photos from the last lot of work. Bye bye ugly orange door. This was easy to achieve. Seperate the hing halves by drifting out the pivot pins. Back on goes the original door and now I can see why it was changed theres a sizeable gap at the top of the frame. Oh dear that is not going to be water tight but im not going to be defeated that easily. Ah thats where the bend is how did I not notice that earlier? Out come my good friends the hammer and the ratchet straps and 5 minutes later. Much better all though not 100% yet
