Bugger! Sorry Paul. I'll post it onto you. I was meant to meet Matt this morning at the overflow and he had the multiple meter in Yolanda to bring over. Unfortunately, whilst parked up, some yob decided to smash Yolanda's windscreen making her undriveable so Matt was unable to drive over and I had to attend Sophie's recovery alone.

It wasn't all that serious Pete. Sorry to here about yolander and thanks for dealing with Sophie for me.
I must say I was impressed with the recovery people they really where very good and very reasonably priced. I also want their recovery truck for myself, they also told me that they had only set up a month ago. Cat also was saying how taken she was with Sophie and that she might look for one herself. You did a good sales pitch Pete.

Thanks Paul. Yes, it was a very nice truck and they were interested in Sophie. I did try to point out the unique differences of the mk1. As coincidence has it I'd previously met her partner as a few months ago he sold some Ovlov front wings and propshaft to Bob C of DCA and I went and collected from their house in Southend.

My it really is a small world. I also hadn't realised just how many spares came with her. Everything is there including the missing bumper iron.

Glad that she has turned up safe and sound Paul. This really was the most sensible option.
I was gutted to hear about the mindless vandalism of Yolander. That is just ridiculous!

Sorry to hear about Yolanda's screen Pete! Guess she's in the right place for a replacement though And it's great to see Sophie somewhere that you can finally get some work done on her, Paul - you really won't regret having her close to home for that!

work has carried on today despite the rain so I am now rather wet. But it has been worth it. My local motorfactors was open for 2 hours today so I popped in and picked up a 6v battery charger. After 4 hours on charge I hooked the battery up and she turned over but not fast enough to have a hope of starting. So the battery is on a very slow regenerative charge over night. Putting the battery on allowed me to refit her rear light clusters and suss out what wire goes where as a result she now has working sidelights and indicators. Can't yet say whether the brake lights are working as the switch runs off the master cylinder rather than the brake pedal and there is no pedal pressure. Wipers are working as are dip and full beam. One front side light is out. I refitted her bumpers irons on the front and she now has her bumper and I must say she looks a lot better for it. I think is safe to say there has been an improvement today.

If your 6 volt charger has a trickle option the battery will benefit from being g-e-n-t-l-y charged up., as opposed to being force-charged. When you re-connect things check that the connection at the starter solenoid from the battery (the big thick lead) is tight, as it seems to work lose with the engine vibrations. I've learnt a lot about 6 volt stuff with my old 33, so if you're stuck... PM me!
