To say progress on this one has been slow has to be the understatement of a century but that is I hope going to change soon. Now that Bruce is off the road and looking likely to remain that way for at least a year the sensible option seems to be to get Sophie on the road and push her into daily driver duties. So plans change she will no longer be gradually restored rather I intend to do a Joe on her. Once its warm enough for me to camp without getting hypothermia I intend to train down to Essex and spend two or 3 days recommisioning and MOTing and then will drive her 400 miles home. Sorry but its going to have to be camping as getting Sophie on the road means that B&B wont be within budget unless someone has a sofa they want to lend me Anyway I want to ask something a little cheaky. As im really not a city guy the idea of crossing london on the tube is frankly terrifying so would it be possible to be met at the west line station thinks its paddington though not too hot on my London geography. Soonest I can do this will be easter hols so not that long away

I live in Barnet (northern end of the Northern Line!) and work in Heathrow (western end of the Piccadilly Line!) so know my London quite well.... (Some might say encyclopediacally.....) so feel free to PM me & if my shifts coincide & I'm able to meet you at Paddington I'd be happy to assist you across the "big bad city".

Paul, there is a big white box on wheels at EDC, a caravan I believe it is called. I am sure if you ask Matt nicely you could use that. It woud save you lugging camping gear all the way there and would be a damn sight more comfy and warm.

Ah, erm the caravan. That's due to leave next weekend and not reappear until the weekender. Sorry but FG wanted it moved and it has been there a while. I'm sure pitching a tent at EDC will be fine Paul. One more thing you need to consider is that Sofie is at the overflow. There's no electric there and it's in the open. We could get it to Central but it's too far to tow her so that would be a job for James (a paid job). You'd need to speak with Matt to arrange this if you want to work on her at EDC so he can pave the way with FG. The problem for a long time now is we are over size quota. We were only meant to have two cars outside so long as one is a breaker; we currently have three...

I have a good sized generator that could help at the overflow. I don't want to use it to do welding as that might be a bit much for it and I'd hate to throw away £250. Mind you I don't think Sophie needs welding! I have a halogen work light on a stand as well if that would be of use.
Mind you James is good and I doubt it would be a huge amount to transport her.

I shouldn't need power anyway and am more than used to working outside One thing that I could do is get her running and book an MOT near central making it legal to drive her to central ;D should she need welding. Im quite happy to do work on her where she is.

Fair dos Paul and I'm sure Matt can put you in touch with his classic friendly MOT man.
Btw, I work in Central London so depending what day/time you arrive into Paddington I might be able to meet up with you and guide you through the tube. Lisa's Aunt visits us from Bridgeport so I'm used to that. These days though she catches a bus to Liverpool Street Station. It takes longer than the tube but it is less hassle. I can ask the bus details for you if you like.

My easter holiday runs from the 31st of march to the 16th of april. Easter week itself is out my life would not be worth living if I went away over it. So that leaves the week of the 9th to the 15th of april. Please let me know if those dates are suitable I hope so cause im getting withdrawal.
