Hello, all! I'm the proud owner of a 6 volt "K" reg. 33, that was previously owned by a fellow member, so I knew it had come from a good home! i must admit that so far I've only played with it in my garage and did an MOT, that I'm sorry to say it failed, albeit only for defective indicators and a side light. The side light was easy; cleaned the contacts and it worked straight a way. The indicators were more tricky... I've bought a new flasher unit & have re-wired the indicators so that the tell-tale the the car's indicators alternate, whereas before they all flashed in unison. If anyone wants a hand with this in the future, do get in touch! I've also fitted 6 volt yellow halogen headlights (a la French!) that are great! I LOVE yellow headlamps! These pictures show the car "escaping" from Derbyshire and heading south, albeit attached to an A frame and towed by my Citroen Xantia!

Ohh, a brown one! That's two Daf 33 colours that you don't seem to see on modern cars - good old fashioned white and 70's brown Whereabouts are you and any chance of Pooh making it to the Essex meet ??

Agreed Joe, there is something I find most alluring about that brown. Brown is the new black I say! Oh and don't worry, I've been dropping hints for Andrew to pay us a visit.

there's nowt wrong with a brown car. Although I must say that's a nicer shade than the flying poo which is much more of a 70's brown. Looks like a lovely car though Andrew!

It don't look brown to me. Looks very like my Becky and she is Bergina; a sort of deep maroon. Good luck with her Andrew. Becky is an every day car for me and she treats me just fine so long as I use her all the time. Get to it my dear fellow1

"Pooh" passed her test today, with no advisories! To get the pass I'd replaced a side light, changed the flasher unit and fitted a new horn, that was SO quiet I didn't reckon the tester would consider it as a horn! Insurance was £86.40 for a year, as a cherished car, with 3,000 miles. Road tax is nil, so I'm now driving around like a trooper in "Pooh"!
I think (only THINK!) that she's not changing up as quickly as she ought; neither is she changing down on braking... I can foresee a visit to Essex Dafs soon! That said, it's a real pleasure to be back behind the (large) steering wheel of a Daf 33. IT MAKES ME SMILE!!!

Well done Andrew - and Pooh of course! You're more than welcome to pay Essex DAFs a visit Andrew; we're around most weekends - just let us know when to expect you.

Very, Very nice Andrew. You will enjoy every second of finally driving the 33 around.
Have you checked the condition of the Variomatic Vaccum hoses? A loose one could make the DAF behave as you described. I always make it a point to immediately change ALL the vacuum hoses before making a first ride and every 3 or so years after as routine service.

Would you PM me a phone number & the postal address (incl. postcode) of the Essex Daf H.Q? I've no doubt this location is extremely secret, with guards, watch towers and dogs patrolling the perimeter fence.... Or perhaps not!
Little "Poohey" might like a day out....
