Those who say it can't be done, should not interupt the people doing it !

^^^^ I know that jrr. John was napping when he quoted you. He doesn't have much time for VW Bugs, so I'm not sure how familiar he is with the finer points of the car in question LOL...not at all. AND I WANT TO KEEP IT THAT WAY. ;D ;D John

Is it all back together yet? Daf's don't like to be sat around doing nothing you know.

Does anyone know what happened to VUF and her new owner or is this another one to just disappear? Well it looks like she is taxed until Sept 2014.

I anticipated that this might be the case at some point. Anyone fancy giving me have a loan.
At least she looks intact. Ho hum. Poor little VUF.

I had a really odd day today at work. It was a REALLY unusual day. I had no hot water as my immersion heater is playing up, so I wondered if it was having a cold shower was to blame, but when I finally got home and parked up I saw a DAF 33 go up the road right in front of me, and pull in around the corner.
I genuinely thought I was seeing things.....
But no, like the plot of Journey to the Far Side of the Sun, it seems is another identical world past the roundabout in the middle of the street.
I did wonder by the fact that there was often an Allegro or Commer campervan parked there, but tonight like a rare butterfly it came to rest just out of sight. Would it disappear if I chased it?
Fortunately, it didn't....and what was I greeted with but little VUF!
She is not wholly happy, as it appears her clutch is stuck on, but has a keen and pleasant new young owner who remembered seeing all the DAFs outside on the street (when I kept them at home). So this is all good news.....Will is a splendid chap who can't wait to get her repaired, and I will be supplying him with a spare manual and plenty of hopefully good advice. And spares, I would think!
Who'd have thought it? In the past goodness knows how many years I have NEVER seen a DAF on the road that I wasn't expecting to see.
VUF's future seems secure I am glad to say. I'm sure everyone will be glad to hear me say that!

Yep, certainly somethings up - turn the clutch drum and the alternator turns. Say no more.

Superb news Howard. I hope you have told him about us lot here too.
I was only thinking of that film a couple of weeks ago and trying to remember what it was called. I seem to remember the main character drove a Rover P5...great film though, even if a bit dated now but the notion behind it was superb.
