I'm not sure Ken. I was looking at a grey Fergie on my last visit but then Matt told me it wasn't that Fergie so I'm not sure that I've seen it. I'm sure there will be somewhere that needs attacking with a toothbrush though. BTW peeps, for those wishing to attend for the first time, PM me for address/directions and I will supply them. We're in Great Bromley, six miles north east of Colchester, the exact location being the best (worst kept) secret of the DAF community.

Is it all mechanical stuff for the Fergie or does the tinware need some love? It's a 50+ year old piece of farm equipment, Ken. Never mind love, it needs several nights of no-hold-barred, no-questions-asked, extramarital passion!

So, angle grinder, large lump hammer and some red oxide paint then.

Sounds good - will his order include a competent diesel mechanic by any chance? ;D

Can't be that hard, Matt, it's just an engine, gearbox and 4 wheels after alll! The two things I do know about diesels are - don't spray the injectors on your hand to test them, and don't put your hand in the fan while it's running. So we've got the elf n safety covered

One of my school friends and I had been trying to get it started after sitting for years, in the end we decided to tow it. Only we didn't refit the radiator and, as it started, the rope started to pick up on the fan belt. I grabbed the rope without thinking and promptly got my hand pulled into the (metal) fan. Luckily, it got me on the "down" side of the rotation and threw me clear with just some very bruised and skinned knuckles to show for it. Useful lesson learned, though!
