Cool! Is Boris a 1300cc? I think we have some clutches like that with 4 springs. One is in vgc with plenty of meat each side.

John, What has that clutch above got to do with a DAF 66? Despite Joe's fondness of flywheels and pressure plates that you could play on your music centre* I prefer them dead flat as they work so much better when they aren't wibbly-wobbly wonders. In fairness though, a tiny bit of grooving isn't going to make much odds with a soft as dog-shite asbestos frisbee, but non-asbestos ones are well 'ard. What I'd do is whip out some shims to get some drive out of it and spend some time up the parts barn examining some of the covers and collecting and sorting a bucketload of shims. I might offer more top tips when I'm not on a tablet tethered to the moby in the lorry....

My fondness is more for not replacing things (especially rare things) unless they really need replacing, mac. Even the "new" ones from Danny are, afaik, reconditioned plates so every one used is another one out of circulation - which may just be that "last one available anywhere" when yours really does fall apart Generally, if it wasn't snatching or juddering before it went, it's not obviously blued or badly surface cracked (or looks like a relief map of the Himalayas), and the springs are still springy, a pressure plate will work again with new friction if needs must

My fondness is for not doing the job again. There's no rare things here. There must be several times more 66 spares than cars!
