Pretty sure I have a spare grill and a spare factory air dam to cover the lower grill in cold weather as well.

We can probably supply you with the convex headlamps but the concave ones are hard to come by.

Paul, how many Dutch guilders would you want to part with that spare grille ?
Pete, I am not surprised the concave ones are rare as I hadn't seen them before ! I suppose I'll just get a matched pair of Wipacs for now.

Mini-Update ! Not much time for 'Lazy' today, as her bigger sister's wheel refurb was the priority. However, I've taken the starter off again and separated it from the solenoid. I'll hopefully be able to take both of those apart over the following couple of weeks. The Haynes BOL is fairly useless for this job, but I found this brilliant how-to which I'll be using as a reference.

Update ! I went into the shed to disassemble Lazy's starter earlier today. Everything came apart as per the Guzzi guy's writeup, the only difference being that the 6V version only has two brushes rather than four. If any of you chaps intend to take a Bosch starter apart, make sure you have access to an impact driver, a BFH and a catering-size container of plusgas, otherwise you won't go very far ! Anyway... As you can tell from the picture, the inside of the starter is very dirty, which must have been partly responsible for its reluctance to turn. The other issue I discovered was that one of the two brushes is very worn and was barely making contact with the commutator. So the plan now is to find a replacement brush to replace the worn one. Once this is done, I'll give the whole unit a good clean, recondition the commutator, reassemble it and test it. Watch this space !

Top tips there. I must get round to pulling that 12V one apart I have sculling around the shed...

Over the last week, I contacted numerous specialist suppliers, all of whom proudly advertised that they could 'rebuild any electric motor ever made' and 'supply any part you could ever need'.
Many of them didn't even bother answering their phone/emails - very professional ! Of those that did, nobody could supply the correct part, apart from a chap in... Greece, who quoted a very reasonable 3 euros for the brush but a rather obscene 16 euros for postage !
The search continued, and by a stroke of luck I came across a GEBE catalogue that quoted alternative part numbers. A google search revealed that one of the alternative parts was listed on ebay, of all places, for £4 posted ! Needless to say, it's on its way to Fraud towers.
If things go according to plan, I should be able to reassemble the starter next weekend and Lazy will live once again !!! And then the real trouble will start, as I begin preparing her for her MoT.

I guess I am rather lucky on this side of the pond. My local supplier can rebuild Starters, Generators, Voltage Regulators and Alternators for me and have them back within 5 days...and he is only 15 miles from DAF Central.
I pity you having to deal with these so called "professionals" there.

I pity you having to deal with these so called "professionals" there. You can say that again... I ordered the brush last Friday morning, and it was only dispatched earlier this afternoon ! FFS, four working days (and £2.4 !) to open a drawer, pick the correct brush, put it in an envelope, write the address and stick a 50p, second class stamp on ! The mind boggles ! I hope Royal Mail, the other paragon of efficiency and reliability, will at least manage to deliver it by Saturday. Otherwise poor, old Lazy will have to lay dormant for yet another week.
