Good stuff John and glad to see that Sandra has found the sanctity of the museum. Look forward to the results of the grill hunting enquiries. How odd that the black ones always go missing...

I gave her a quick peek to see what the problems were.... 'After replacing the strange looking in-line Gas filter assembly with a small replacement and 'tweeking the Carb a little SANDRA idled without using the Choke. So, a quick trip around the neighborhood was called for...she ran just fine'.
To be said in your very best Professor Snape voice 'I'm so very pleased for you'.
It is official, I now despise Duf 44's. I really do.
Lovely little 55 there John. Looks like she won't take much to sort out re: cosmetics.

Oh but there's more Ken! Yes, check the updated ED thread over the road. More to tell on her I'm afraid... But please don't despair, the Brighton 33 is looking very good indeed!

I am beginning to wonder if Snowdrop has Gremlins or is just plain Female.... ;D ;D ;D ;D Certainly hope the problems there will be resolved soon....I am getting visions of PyroKate's old 44. Early this morning...(around 7 ish) I took the buffer and polish to Sandra before starting work in the Garage/Museum/Library/DAF Central-USA. ;D The result was amazing.... A true Mimosa Coupe' emerged after a thick layer of oxidation was buffed away. You can even see "Sir Percy's" reflection just behind the door and he stood at least 10 feet away. Now...if I could just do that to the interior. BTW...anyone at Essex DAF have a spare right side door card they would be willing to sell ?? Mine is shot and a saloon card will not fit. Today I also found out some history on this 55.... Sandra was first licensed on 18 June, 1971 and purchased from Viking Motor Company. In 2000 it was aquired by a Miss Samira Prince from Reading (UK) on 25 June 2004 the car was exported to the States. It remained in California until I purchased it. With only 42,000 miles on her today she still has long life ahead of her. Sandra still carries her original UK licence plates: OBP 512J..which is also etched into her windscreen and one side window. What is up with the etched glass ?? John

looking superb , John ! In the UK , years ago , car insurance companies thought etching details into windows would help stop car theft / changing car I.D`s , normally all windows would be done ! Dont know if you have this info John , but this is the info held on the UK vehicle licensing data-base ; " The vehicle details for OBP 512J are: Date of Liability 01 06 2004 Date of First Registration 18 06 1971 Year of Manufacture 1971 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1108CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour YELLOW "

Thanks Ken...Yes, all that information is on my V-5 document. The only thing which is not present are the name(s) of the first &/or second owners before Miss Prince in 2000. I'm sure there had to be a few names there. very nice john, very nice..will look at the door panels on saturday but if need be you can have the 1 from my coupe for now ONLY if this is a spare Matt....I will not have you strip bits from a complete car just for me. AND THAT IS AN ORDER !!! Sandra needs a complete interior work over (except the headliner) so it will take some time anyway....I would LOVE to drive her right now (which I can) but the interior is pure TRASH. John

Yes, the door cards are Black Matt. ;D
I am probably going to swap the interior seating from "Sparky" (the 44 Estate) into "Sanda" and wait to re-do the cloth seats at my leisure....I want to drive Sandra!!!
Her headliner is perfect as well as her carpeting. The brakes have all been completed, the Vario works perfectly and the only thing I have to do is replace the rear muffler, which I have in stock. ;D
