Thanks John Odd that they don't list them in the Walkers UK or Europe catalogue - guess that the US takes its older cars more seriously than over here!

Well, pending any last minute problems, we'll be saying goodbye to Tilly on Wednesday. Kind of sad, but has to be done because I simply can't give them all the attention they deserve. And I get the feeling she'll be staying in touch

Sad indeed Joe, but needs must. Don't feel too bad about it, you did resurect her after all and likely she would still be in a garage covered in soot still if you hadn't. At least she has found another caring owner and we'll continue to keep tabs on her.

IM sure her new owner will post an update or two about her... here she is after a little wash and spruce.. be getting the polish out in a bit.. will see how she does Joe, you know fi I ever have to part with her she will head your way mate, and im so pleased to find a loving home for "George" cause he was too good a car to just sit on the drive and die.. it rekindled my love of the old barge driving him to an from MOT, and hes got so many toys... by the way... where on earth is Tilly's Horn ??

Tilly's horn is just where it should be Nick, but needs persuading with a gentle tap from a hammer... Glad to see she has moved from one caring owner to another.

I suspect the new owner will be more caring than the last, Pete, which was one of the reasons for suggesting the trade in the first place - with one thing or another, the poor girl just wasn't getting what she deserved here any more Maybe it's just mine, but older cars quite often seem to have a burst of "improvements" when they change hands - all those little faults and foibles that you've got used to and are content to put up with get dealt with by the new owner whereas they would have stayed as they were indefinitely otherwise I sometimes wonder how close to showroom we could get some of our cars if we swapped them round now & then cos all the skills seem to be out there, just not always being used on the same car at the same time! As Pete says, Nick, her horn is where it should be but may well need the diaphragm and contacts cleaned seeing as it's been used about 6 times since I had her - once by me and once by the tester for each MOT, then nothing for another 12 months ;D Meanwhile, with the forum owners' permission, I'll be starting a "not a Daf" thread for her replacement soon which, from what I've seen so far, will be including a LOT of expletives regarding lack of access for repairs! Next time any of you are complaining that something's awkward to get to (yes, even that wiper linkage!) just remember how spoilt we are for access generally on our Dafs!
