as we are having visitors on the 17th/18th september..sian,joe and richard..it would be rude not to invite anyone else who might like a w/end`s daffing nothing planned apart from relaxing and daffing..so bring a tent and a daf..of course we can book those who prefer in at toch which is richard`s choice of accomadation there will be no charge for tent pitching and we still have the caravan on site which im hoping lewis wont mind us using ;D if interested,then please let us know as soon as poss

Id love to come down all depends whether Bruce bankrupts me.
would I be linched if I came in a triumph (Not a DAF) instead as it needs the exercise?

Bruce would be very much welcome and would be nice to finally meet him. Now, have a word as it would be most unfair if Bruce prevented you from attending an Essex weekender!

unfortunatly i wont be able to come as already booked for another all weekend show your all welcome to come to norfolk on the sunday for a day out and see my herald convertable completly rebuilt in under 10 weeks

Matt, any luck on the battery front mate? I went into Halfrauds and asked 'em just for a laugh. I wasn't disappointed lol+.

It recently occured to me a lot of motorbikes are 6v I wonder if a battery from one of them could be made to fit

The problem with 6v motorbike batteries is that they tend to be small, Paul. They typically have a capacity of under 10 amp-hours and cold cranking currents of maybe 60 - 90 amps. So they'd probably work after a fashion to start with, but would be fried in pretty short order by the demands that even a Daf engine would put on them - especially in terms of the starting current. Bigger bikes which need more cranking power tend to be 12v like most cars for that very reason
